Planning a Dig Project
Follow a safe work plan Planning ahead is the first step to ensuring a successful outdoor project. Understanding the work area and the location of underground utility lines can save you time, money and help you avoid a dangerous situation. It’s your responsibility to ensure you are not digging or encroaching on natural gas facilities. Hitting a natural gas line, or creating an obstruction that doesn’t allow us to quickly access the gas line, can put you and your community at serious risk. Steps to Follow 1. Mark the Area Mark your project area with white flags, paint, chalk or surveyors tape...

We all know how important volunteers are to the success of any event, large or small. That’s why, for two decades, SaskEnergy has served as the official Champion of Volunteers for numerous events in Saskatchewan, supporting thousands of people as they give back to their communities! As a major partner of the recent Grey Cup Festival in Regina, SaskEnergy’s name was visible on all of the 1,200 volunteers’ bright green uniforms, and throughout the Grey Cup Festival sites at REAL. Provincial government approves SaskEnergy’s commodity rate increase; the lowest rate in Canada
The Government of Saskatchewan has approved SaskEnergy’s application to increase its commodity rate — the first increase in seven years after four consecutive decreases. The new rate will be the lowest in Canada. Effective November 1, 2021, SaskEnergy’s commodity rate changes from $2.575/Gigajoule (GJ) to $3.20/GJ. The adjustment will increase the average residential customer’s bill by $6.16 per month. “SaskEnergy’s commodity rate increase is a reflection of the significant rise in natural gas prices. Gas utilities across Canada are facing the same challenge,” said Ken From, President and...
