Federal Carbon Tax to Appear on Upcoming SaskPower and SaskEnergy Bills

SaskEnergy increase approved for public safety and infrastructure investments
Today the Government of Saskatchewan approved an increase to SaskEnergy’s Delivery Service Rate of 3.6 per cent to begin November 1, 2017. On average, the increase to residential customers will be an additional $1.65 per month or about $20 annually. Safety patrols prepare for summer construction season
The Sask 1 st Call Safety Patrols will enter their third year of operation on May 2 nd, and will continue promoting safe digging across the province until the construction season ends Oct 31 st. Beginning today, homeowners can apply for a free home heating tune-up through SaskEnergy’s Tune-up Assistance Program (TAP). Natural gas usage in Saskatchewan continues to break records
The return of extreme cold weather across Saskatchewan this week has again helped break the record for natural gas consumption in the province. Natural gas usage of an estimated 1.66 petajoules (PJ) on January 6, 2022 surpassed the previous daily record set on December 29, 2021. This marks the fifth time in the past two weeks that daily natural gas consumption in Saskatchewan has approached or exceeded 1.6 PJ. Extreme cold weather across Saskatchewan this past week resulted in record-breaking natural gas demand in the province. The peak demand was on January 12 with a natural gas consumption rate of 1.70 petajoules per day (PJ/d).
