Services and charges

As your natural gas utility, our goal is to ensure we manage rates in a fair and equitable way.  In most cases, natural gas is more affordable than other energy source options.
        
SaskEnergy rate charges on your bill are made up of three parts:

1. Gas Delivery Service

• Basic Monthly Charge (Fixed Amount)
  Includes the cost of the service line, meter, meter reading, 24 hour emergency services and account administration.
• Delivery Charge (Based on Consumption)
  Includes the cost to transport, store and distribute natural gas, as well as maintain the system.

2. Gas Supply Service

This is the cost of natural gas (or the Commodity Rate).  SaskEnergy does not mark-up the cost of natural gas - you pay the same amount we pay.  The amount charged is based on how much gas you consume.

3. Mandatory Charges

Includes other applicable charges such as:

• Municipal Payments
• Federal Carbon tax
• Goods and Service Tax (GST)
• Provincial Sales Tax (PST)
